Drake, Kanye West & Kendrick Lamar Leads Nominations For 2022 BET Hip-Hop Awards

BET reveals nominations for 2022 Hip-Hop Awards.

The 2022 BET Hip-Hop Awards is taking place on September 30th in Atlanta, which will be hosted by Fat Joe. Ahead of the show, the nominations for the annual award show have been announced today.

Drake and Kanye West lead the nominations this year with 14 and 10 nods respectively. Kendrick Lamar, who dropped his final TDE album “Mr. Morale and The Big Steppers” this year, was recognized in 9 categories.

All three of them are up for Hip-Hop album of the year, with “Mr. Morale and The Big Steppers“, “Donda” and “Certified Lover Boy“. The other artists in the category are Latto for “777”, Future for “I Never Liked You”, Pusha T for “It’s Almost Dry” and Nas for “King’s Disease 2”.

Cardi B, Doja Cat, Drake, Future, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar and Megan Thee Stallion will be fighting for the Hip-Hop artist of the year honour. The other top nominees include Future with eight nods, followed by Baby Keem, J. Cole and Cardi B with six each.

There are three nominations for Future’s song “Wait For U,” which also includes Drake and Tems, and three nominations for Drake’s “Way 2 Sexy,” the first single from “Certified Lover Boy.”

Cardi B’s “Hot Sh*t,” a song she made with Kanye West and Lil Durk, has received three nominations this year, including Song of the Year, Best Hip Hop Video, and Best Collaboration.
