DaBaby says he’s a supporter of Donald Trump for pardoning Kodak Black.
When it’s to supporting political leaders, there are only a few rap artists who are on the side of former US President Donald Trump. DaBaby now comes in support of the former president, and the reason is that pardoned the prisoned Kodak Black in the last days of his office tenure.
The rapper was the latest guest on “Full Send Podcast” where he was asked about his opinion on Donald Trump. “Do I f**k with Trump? Now, hell yeah,” he responds. “Trump is a gangsta. He let Kodak out.” Then the hosts mentioned that he also pardoned Lil Wayne, who previously faced flak for meeting the former president.
“Media make an ant look like a f**king dinosaur,” said Baby about the media for portraying Trump in a bad light.
DaBaby’s current endorsement of Trump, though, may be motivated by something else. If the 30-year-old rapper is elected president in 2024, he expects to be able to free his cousin from prison. “I need him to get my cousin out…yeah California,” he stated. “If you need a new campaign partner Trump when you come back around, holla at me, man. I mean, I can swap it out and get my cousin out for sure. He’s a political prisoner.”
Undoubtedly, DaBaby wasn’t always a supporter of Trump. He revealed a text message from Trump’s campaign staff dated back in 2020 with the phrase, “F-K YALL,” and he questioned, “Who gave bruh nem my number?” He once said that he would back Kanye West’s run for president in 2020.
