Cardi B praises USHER, and calls him a Legend.
Usher has been in the headlines lately due to his Las Vegas Residency show, and the singer also delivered one of the best NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts in July. The “Confessions” hitmaker was often called the “King of R&B”, and Cardi B now also gives flowers to the 43-year-old.
“I’m so glad @Ushers is getting the love he deserves,” she wrote. “Y’all were trying him for a couple years but I’m glad he overcame that because he is a LEGEND.” The tweet also reached to Usher, who responded with a heart emoji.

In a recent interview with Bevy Smith, Usher states that he is ready to embrace the King of R&B crown as he’s the last of his kind. “I mean, you call me that [King of R&B], I’ll definitely carry it,” said Usher. “I’ma tilt my crown knowing that, and I’ma tilt my crown knowing that I’m standing on the shoulders of all of the icons of our time. It is Michael [Jackson] that I stand on the shoulders of, it is James Brown that I stand on the shoulders of, it is Ronald Isley I stand on the shoulders of, it is Luther Vandross, it is Barry White, it is Teddy Pendergrass—it is all of these incredible artists like Marvin Gaye that will never be forgotten as long as there’s a breath in my body to breathe. It’s all of them.”
“And as a result of that, yeah, you wanna give me that crown, you tell me who gon’ do it better,” he continued as Smith mentioned he’s still a relevant artist who is making music. “I am, and I am because I’ve been given a gift, a gift that came from God, man,” he added. “I’m carrying them, so if anything, you wanna give me a crown? I’m the last of my kind. That’s what I’ma say.”
As Chris Brown’s rivalry with Usher is hotly anticipated by fans, Usher doesn’t see much value in taking part in a Verzuz fight either. “I think if you ever came to my show, you would understand that I don’t even think a Verzuz could handle all of the songs that I have to be honest,” he declared. “It’s like, I could do it by myself. But I don’t wanna do that. That’s not the purpose of Verzuz, me versus me.”
