Cardi B earned her third Diamond just a couple of weeks after getting her second, for assistance on Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You“. Cardi’s first Diamond came from her hit “Bodak Yellow”, also off her debut album. She now has the most RIAA Diamond as a female rapper and tied with Katy Perry for the most Diamond singles as a female artist.
With the phenomenal popularity of her song “WAP (Feat. Megan Thee Stallion)” from last summer, Cardi B created history. Cardi B’s fourth #1 single in the US, “WAP,” debuted at #1 on the Billboard “Hot 100” upon its August release. This extended her record as the female rapper with the most #1 singles in “Hot 100” history and solidified her status as the only female rapper to have achieved #1 on the “Hot 100” in both the 1980s and 1990s.

“Wow I’m sooo happy! My album came out in 2018 and it’s still breaking records. I have a solo Diamond record, a feature Diamond record and now ANOTHER Diamond record from a collab with 2 people that I look up to and love so much, @jbalvin & @badbunnypr ! I remember like it was yesterday when this song went #1 and now it’s Diamond. I honestly just can’t believe this is happening! I’m so proud to have two songs off my debut album go Diamond. I hope I can achieve the same or even better on my next one. Thank you everyone that has supported and loved this record,” she wrote on her IG.
She also revealed a quirky detail regarding the song. She stated, “This song started my great relationship with Balenciaga and is the record that gets me the most coin since it’s requested for commercials and brands all the time.”
Recently, Nicki Minaj earned her first RIAA Diamond Certification with her 2010’s single “Super Bass“.
