Bobby Shmurda talks getting compared with some of the greats.
Bobby Shmurda has been dropping consistent new music for the past year ever since getting released from Clinton Correctional Facility in February 2021, after being for over six years in prison. The “Hot Ni**a” hitmaker is independently working on his debut studio album, and now he made a visit to Power 106 LA for a conversation with Bryhana.
During the interview, the Miami rapper reveals the comparisons he gets from the public. I get a lot of DMX, P. Diddy, 50 [Cent], and Jay[-Z] sometimes,” he said. “But when I see Jay, I’m like Jay? Jay is wild calm. I’m more [energetic], but I think when I’m on my business side, like, when I get in those rooms and sh*t, yeah, it’s a different person in me. So, it’s like, you get what you get, I guess. I could be, at any given time, I can change. When it’s business time, alright, it’s time for business.”
“There’s time for fun and time for [being wild]. It’s like, a time and place for everything, I know that,” he added.
It’s been eight years since Shmurda debuted his big single “Hot Ni**a,” and after doing time in prison, he’s back on the scene and producing new music left and right. Shmurda is preparing for a new season after a snafu with his company, and fans are impatiently awaiting his first official aural introduction.
