“8 Mile” battle rapper is banned in Iowa for Fraudulent Business.
One of the opponents from Eminem‘s final battle in “8 Mile”, is reportedly banned from doing business in Iowa by the State’s Attorney General Tom Miller. According to Des Moines Register, Rapper Gerald “Strike” Sanders, is famous for his appearances in the 2002 blockbuster movie “8 Mile” as battle rapper Lyckety-Splty, was doing some unlawful business, where he hired kids from the inner-city community to sell merchandise, clothes, and more through door-to-door. Attorney claimed that Gerald made the kids lie to the customers, telling them that all the generated funds would go the charity.
The guilty defended himself as he denied all the allegations against him. “What’s important to know is that I did not send people into the neighborhood to defraud people,” he said.
To avoid any penalty or jail time, Sanders agreed to Miller’s terms and shut down his business from the state of Iowa. The Attorney claimed that the Atlanta-based Inner City Solutions did not register as a fundraiser and failed to obtain a sales license for the door-to-door business.
“This agreement puts a stop to Inner City Solutions’ business in Iowa and ends the company’s claims it raises funds for local charities close to the hearts of many Iowans,” says Miller.
However, Gerald Sanders claimed that the officials threatened him. “We could go after you for these crazy amounts, but if you sign this paper saying you’ll never come back to Iowa we’ll leave it alone,” he said.
It’s not the first time he is going through some legal issues. During the auditions for “8 Mile”, Gerald was on the run for attempted murder and later Eminem bailed him to shoot his scenes.
“It was funny because I was on the run from the feds at that time. When we pulled up to the [auditions], we actually thought it was the feds. At that time I was in the streets, carrying guns. My manager was like, “If they try to arrest you, I’ll shoot in the air, you run!” [Later,] Em done bailed me out on my attempted murder case. Proof went to him to get the money for that,” said Gerald “Strike” Sanders.
