Ab-Soul says he wanted a BIA collab on his new album.
Ab-Soul recently made his return to music as he dropped his first project in 6 years “Herbert“, a follow-up to 2016’s “Do What Thou Wilt.” The 18-track project featured appearances from Zacari, Joey Badass, Jhene Aiko, Russ, Big Sean, SiR and more.
However, there was one name that the LA rapper wanted to be on his project but it didn’t work out. During a recent Q&A session on Twitter, the rapper was asked about the artist that he wanted on the album, and he named BIA. “BIA. Timing was off tho,” he responded.

While BIA didn’t make it to the album, the rapper was also asked about the feature with JAY-Z and Kanye West which he previously teased. Before the album was released, TDE and Ab-Soul shared a picture with Hov, teasing a possible feature on the project.

Earlier last year, Soul also tweeted about wanting Kanye West on the last song of his album. “So I need @kanyewest on this last song for my album…can y’all tell him to get Top on the phone for me please n thank u,” he said in a tweet.

Although not including a feature from BIA did not greatly impact the success of his album, the Top Dawg Entertainment rapper still considers it to be one of the best releases of the year. Last week, Ab-Soul took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the album and to correct people on the spelling of his stage name.
“For the last time…. My name is Ab-Soul. Not Ab Soul/AbSoul/Absol/etc. Thanks,” he wrote in his first tweet. “ALSO. My album IS top 5 of da year. Fu*c all dat humble sh*t. Dead homies,” he added in a follow-up message.
