50 Cent talks about his friendship with Eminem.
During a recent interview, 50 revealed the newest message he received from his fellow hip-hop legend. Even if you’re a legend, it turns out you still text like you’re in high school. There’s something reassuring about that. For example, 50 Cent claims that Eminem isn’t a big texter (which isn’t surprising), but that when he does, it’s unexpected. Despite the exact lyric quotation 50 brought up, it also sounds quite good.
On Monday (Aug. 31), 50 got down for an interview to promote his new Power spinoff and ended up talking about his strong bond with Eminem. 50 Cent recently sat down with June Archer for an exclusive interview where he speaks on his show POWER, the legendary Kanan Character, producing 8 TV Shows, Police Brutality, and more. At around the 27-minute mark, The host also asks 50 Cent about his friendship with Eminem. While the Power star was quick to dismiss any suggestions that he and Eminem will be waging their own Verzuz war anytime soon, he did appear to be more open to the idea of someday teaming with his friend. “We all know that you have a great relationship brotherhood with Eminem, is there any possibility that we may see a collab album or would you even think of considering a versuz just for the culture, not as a competition but just for the culture because I don’t see you competing with anybody else,” asks Archer.
“That’s tough,” says 50 Cent. “If anybody’s thinking of doing that type of competition with Em and then they should stop, Just stop thinking that sh*t right away because It’s not going to turn out good. Bro you know Marshall Mathers LP sold 22 million copies. that’s why I always knew my project could be bigger. When the guy that sells 22 million records says yo this guy is crazy like this is the one for us to f*ck with, everybody wants to do what you want to do, that’s why my relationship with him is the way it is you know what I’m saying because that was the opportunity enough.”
While the Power star was quick to dismiss any suggestions that he and Eminem would be waging their own Verzuz war any time soon, he did appear to be more open to the possibility of someday teaming with his friend. “They’d probably get songs out of us,” he said. “I have songs, still, laying around. … Once it starts to get dated a little bit, we don’t want that.”
50 Cent also reveals how Eminem hit him with random text messages. For example, 50 claims that Eminem isn’t a big texter (which isn’t surprising), but that when he does, it’s unexpected. Despite the exact lyric quotation, 50 brought up, it also sounds quite good. “You know to this day know what’s ill about him like he hit me randomly. I showed you my phone, the last time I talked to him. He texted me and was like ‘yo will you go fly me in private so I can land on that d*ck’. Ni**a what the f*ck is wrong with you that you just said the lineup a b*tch was supposed to say and made it sound cool. But he stopped doing what he’s doing to do that right. That sh*t makes my day on a whole another level because I’m like what did you just, it was random. This guy, I’m always going to have love for him, that’s my guy.”
In January 2020, 50 was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which he shared alongside Eminem and Dre. Em gave a heartfelt homage to his work and friendship throughout the years. “Of all the things I don’t remember about 2002, I have a very clear memory of the first time I met 50,” Eminem said. “One of the first things I noticed when he walked into the room was his presence. It just kind of felt like he’s going to be a star. He was the whole package.”
Curtis Jackson recently revealed that he will be in the fourth instalment of the “Expendables” franchise, and he has now published the first images from the set.
