50 Cent reacts to the shout-out from Eminem on “EPMD 2”.
Last night, we finally get to hear Nas and Eminem rap together on the same track for the first time ever. The rap icons teamed up on the song called “EPMD 2“, along with hip hop duo EPMD. The song appeared on Nas’ new album “King’s Disease 2” with Hit-Boy. In Eminem verse, the Detroit rapper shouts out various other MCs including, Lil Wayne, Drake, Kanye West, Jay-Z. He also paid homage to the likes of DMX, MF Doom, Prince Markie Dee. Along with that, Eminem also mentions his good friend 50 Cent.
In his verse, after remembering the hip-hop icons who recently passed away, Eminem said that he texts 50 Cent that he loves him, as people never know, tomorrow they could be dead.
“I hit 50 via text
Told him that I love him
’cause I don’t even know when I’ma see him next
Tomorrow could be your death,” Em raps.
Now 50 Cent took to social media where he shared that part of the verse and said, “No you can not front on this verse, you just gotta listen, shut the f**k up and listen.”
Em also mentions other of hip-hop’s legends, including as Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Lil Wayne, later in the verse, and expresses gratitude for having his name alongside theirs. “And my name’s with the Kanes, and the Waynes, and the Jays/ And the Dres, and the Yes, and the Drakes/ And the J Dillas, Jadas, Cool Js, and the Ras/ And amazin’ as Nas is, and praise to the Gods of this/ Shout to the golden age of hip-hop and the name of this song is,” he raps.
The sequel to “EPMD,” which was featured in the first King’s Disease, is “EPMD 2.” While Em had a notable verse, the EPMD rap pair of E and PMD had some standout phrases as well, while Nas wove together another impressive performance, as he did throughout the album.
King’s Disease II was Nas’ highest charting album, sold 56,000 album-equivalent units in its first week of release and debuted at number one on both the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and US Top Rap Albums lists. King’s Disease II sold more copies in its first week of release than its predecessor did, which sold over 47,000 copies and debuted at number five on the Billboard 200.
