On this day 18 years ago, 50 Cent released his one of the most popular and chart breaking song “In Da Club“, as the lead single of his debut studio album “Get Rich or Die Tryin” in 2003. In 2009, Dr. Dre, DJ Quik, and Mike Elizondo produced the track that was listed at number 24 in Billboard’s Hot 100 Songs of the Decade and number 13 in Rolling Stone’s ‘Best Songs of the Decade‘. 50 Cent celebrates “In Da Club” anniversary when he also acknowledges Eminem, who helped put him in the spotlight.

The breakthrough song launched the teenage rapper’s career, with both the single and his album “Get Rich or Die Tryin” reaching number one on Billboard’s charts. At the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards, “In Da Club” won best rap video, as well as the best new artist. Even back then, everyone knew he was destined for greatness.

It was ranked 13th on Rolling Stone’s list of the “Best Songs of the Decade.” It was placed 448th on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time in 2010.

Eminem, his fellow rapper, was one of the first to predict this. 50 Cent thanked the rap icon for providing him his first break into the music industry, thanking him on Twitter as he celebrated his achievement.

“Get Rich or Die Trying” was named number 12 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums of the Decade list in December 2009. Complex called the album one of the best albums of the decade in 2012. The track “In da Club” topped Billboard’s single and album of the year charts in 2003, becoming the first time since Ace of Base had both in the same year. On XXL’s list of the best diss tracks of all time, “Back Down” was included.

“You ain’t gonna believe this one but 18 years ago today I dropped a song I recorded in LA and it’s still spinning 1,000 times a week at radio. I tell @eminem I love him for what he did for me, he put me on.” wrote Fiddy.

The song was placed 448th on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list in 2010, and it received 1 billion views on YouTube in 2020. 50 Cent Reveals He’s Working On New Album With Dr. Dre & Eminem

In the 2022 Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show, 50 Cent followed Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre with a surprise performance of his Dre-co-produced blockbuster “In Da Club.” The camera zoomed down to 50, who was upside down and flexing, precisely like he did in the “In Da Club” music video 19 years ago. 50 Cent was soon joined by a bevvy of dancers to bounce to the rap classic, and he then passed the stage to Mary J. Blige, who delved into “Family Affair.”

The two rappers have had a lengthy connection, and they’ve often spoken openly about their strong affinity and how they’ve helped each other through difficult times. 50 Cent is said to be the pair’s voice of reason, offering Eminem good counsel while he’s involved in a dispute.

Following Eminem’s “Without Me,” the video for “In Da Club” earned 1 billion views on YouTube in November, becoming the second hip-hop music video from the pre-YouTube period to do so. By 2020, the video had accumulated over 400,000 daily views.

50 is still going strong nearly two decades later. He recently collaborated on “Part of the Game,” the theme song for his forthcoming Starz series “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” alongside NLE Choppa and Rileyy Lanez.

Their duets are nothing short of brilliant, with “You Don’t Know,” released in 2006, still racking up enormous streaming figures. Both men’s rap talents are brilliantly showcased in the tune, which blends into an epic, melodic, and captivating piece. It was released in late 2006 as part of Eminem’s “Eminem Presents the Re-Up,” and it quickly became a fan favourite.

The intense relationship between Eminem and 50 Cent that has developed over the years is genuinely heartwarming and wonderful. That one rapper taking a chance to assist another get his start in the industry has turned into such a solid lasting friendship. And the music that these two visionaries have collaborated on has been a tremendous gift to us all.

50 Cent has one of the biggest rap album debuts in US Billboard 200 history, and he reminded everyone that only Eminem sold more than him. In a post, the rapper shows that his album “Get Rich Or Die Tryin” is the second most streamed rap album released in 2000s. It was streamed 3.7 billion times. He was only behind Eminem’s “The Eminem Show” which has 5.7 billion streams. “The funny sh*t is only @eminem sold more then me,” he said. “I made ni**as so uncomfortable they don’t want to remember LOL.”
