The Game explains why he wants to go against Eminem for a battle.
The Game has recently been shading Eminem and trying to bait the Detroit Rapper for a Verzuz Battle. During his recent visit to “Drink Champs“, the rapper Challenged the Rap God for a one on one showdown as he believes he’s a better emcee. The Game’s manager Wack 100 recently revealed that he already has an Eminem diss track ready if he gets anything from Shady Records boss.
Now Game sat down with Just Blaze and Katty Customs for UPROXX’s new series Fresh Pairs, where he shares details of why he wants to battle Eminem. “When I say what I said about Em,” he said. “it was to challenge him… To challenge hip-hop. To ignite a rap riot. Not a street fight or ‘let’s pull out the straps,” but ni**a get up and rap! Like let’s rap!”
He continued, “Because of Eminem, me and Em’s history, me and 50’s history and Aftermath and Shady and all of that. And Em’s career and all the records he’s sold … they got Eminem put up here where he’s, like, this rap god, but when dissected by myself, I don’t feel like he’s a better rapper than me… I just feel like a rap god where? At one point, I did [think that Eminem was the best rapper] because I was signed to Aftermath and I’m loyal, and Interscope had me thinking that he was better than everybody else. At one point in my career, I was thinking that Em was better than Jay just based off of ‘Renegade’ because The Source magazine said that Eminem got Jay on that verse… and I though that too until I became a vet and a legend in this game.”
Royce Da 5’9″ Reacts To The Game Saying He’s Better Than Eminem: “Em Is A Hard Dude To Out-Rap”
“And so now, this Game today and Em today… f**k ‘The Documentary,’ f**k every album and everything I’ve ever put out up until this day. I don’t care if you richer and I don’t care if you got more plaques. I don’t care who thinks you are great, ni**a, I’m better today. And if I’m not, get up and let’s rap! That’s all I wanna do. I ain’t come here to fight. Let’s rap. You did it with MGK… why not do it with me? You did it with Mariah Carey, you did it with Nick Cannon.”
“You want to know why [Wants To Battle Eminem]? Because 50 can’t rap!” he said. “And so I gotta go a level up and challenge the better rapper. That’s Why.”
“It’s no 2005, 2006 animosity toward 50,” he continued. “I watch Power, I watch the Tommy one, I watch the one with Isaac Wright on primetime television. I watch 50’s shows, I’m a fan of those shows. BMF is great! But I’m a rapper, he’s a rapper and I am the better rapper. I’m not the better TV producer — I’m giving him his dead flowers while he can still smell them. But when it comes to rap, he can’t out-rap me. Your buddy can rap, though.”
Last week, Game shot against the notion that 50 Cent put him on. “A lot of people like, ‘Ni**a, 50 put you on.’ No, 50 did not put me on,” he said while talking to Fat Joe. “People don’t understand that. At that time in L.A., I was it. I was the ni**a. That’s why Jimmy [Iovine] took me, and told 50 he was putting me in G-Unit.”
