Royce da 5’9″ & Joell Ortiz talks Slaughterhouse, Eminem & more.
Royce da 5’9″ recently sat down with Marisa Mendez for an interview on HipHopDx where he get a surprise when his father joined the show. In the interview, Royce Da 5’9″ fellow Slaughterhouse member Joell Ortiz also made an appearance. The duo talks about Slaughterhouse, Griselda, and more.
Griselda, who, like Slaughterhouse, is signed to Eminem’s Shady Records, was also honored by the duo. When asked about Westside Gunn, Benny The Butcher, and Conway The Machine’s success, they claimed they are unconcerned about the attention the Buffalo group is receiving.
Except for Joe Budden, the rest of Slaughterhouse were featured on Eminem’s “I Will,” which was included in the deluxe edition of his “Music to Be Murdered By” album. The collaboration, it turns out, was really recorded quite some time ago.
They also talked about reuniting last year on Eminem’s “Music To Be Murdered By” album for the track called “I Will” which also featured KXNG Crooked. “That song [I Will] was a joint we did a long time ago,” said Royce. “Em just went back through it, cause he does that sometimes. Especially if we go to his studio to record it, nobody will take a copy of it. It’ll be something that exists in his world. When he called me and told me that he wanted to use it, I was like f**k, I know he ain’t gonna let me change my verse. But then I heard my verse and thought, okay, that’s cool.”
