Royce Da 5’9″ gives an opinion on a potential Verzuz between The Game and Eminem.
Ever since his interview on the Drink Champs, The Game had been calling out Eminem for a Verzuz battle. He has been throwing shots at the Detroit rapper for some time now, and reportedly also has a diss track ready. Now Eminem’s good friend and one half of Bad Meets Evil, Royce 5’9″ was asked about a potential battle between the two rappers in the latest interview with Kera Dangerous.
“I think Game is a good challenge for anybody,” he said. “I think people kind of underestimate what he’s done. And his lyrical ability, the ni**a is a stellar Mc. As far as Verzuz, nah I don’t think so. I don’t think so unless it comes down to preference. I just feel like Em is just he just hit that plateau too many times over the years in terms of songs. In terms of a rap battle I think Game would have a much better shot. He would do so much better because that’s his lane. When he come for somebody, he come for f**kin blood. I think it’ll be entertaining, I mean from what I’m hearing that there a song that exists that he’s supposed to be releasing so I guess we’ll wait to hear the song. I just hope that he don’t think that sh*t gonna be some sort of walk in the park because Marshall, he don’t turn another cheek man. All these motherf**kers thinking that he just sitting somewhere without no backbone, it’s just not true. You’re not about to push around, bully that man, you’re not gonna do nothing to him, you’re not gonna touch him. None of that’s gonna happen. You’re gonna rap your raps, they’re gonna be great raps but those cards come both ways.”
He continued, “I haven’t heard from Marshall about this, but I guarantee you, if Game says the wrong thing in those records, Em’s going to want to respond. Now who can talk him out of response, I don’t know, I don’t think I’m one of those people, I don’t even know if I would try to talk him out of it. It’ll be fun to see what happens.”
Royce Da 5’9″ recently weighed in on The Game’s comments, while being embroiled in his own conflict with his Slaughterhouse crew. On an Instagram Live with Mike Zombie Royce said: “I seen it. Whenever anybody mention Em’s name they make it a headline. I feel like every MC should feel that.” Royce said further: “Game is a monster. He’ll just have his hands full. Em is a hard dude to out rap. Nine times out of ten, you’ll be sending him your verse or when he get your verse he gonna aim to out rap you. He probably ain’t get out-rapped ever, the competitive edge is always there.”
