Rick Ross speaks on a rumoured beef with Meek Mill.
Rick Ross released his brand new album “Richer Than I Ever Been” and the MMG Boss is currently on the promo run for it. Rozay recently sat down with Billboard’s Carl Lamarre for an insightful interview. During the conversation, he was asked about his relationship with Meek Mill, who was rumoured to be at odds with Rick Ross over issues regarding his label deal. But according to Ross, it’s all good with Meek, and he wants all the success for him.
“I feel like we’re both hustlers,” he said. “That’s one thing about life, you either grow together or grow apart. As a boss, you make that decision, because whatever it is you want to do, Ricky Rozay wants to see you do it. So when I brought Meek Mill and Wale on the [MMG label] team, there’s a lot of people that didn’t last or was still down with me the way Meek is — so I want to see the homie shine regardless.”
Carl Lamarre also asked him about a line on his single “Little Havana,” which allegedly said to be directed at “Expensive Pain” rapper. “[I meant] let the homie live,” responds Rick Ross. “I’ma go my way, you can go yours. But make sure you keep winning, brother. That’s all Rozay wants to see. That’s just like a brother or sister, whatever it is, I wanna see you win. Even if you get married and move to Colorado. I wanna make sure you eatin’ good on Thanksgiving. Post your pictures on Facebook.”
In May, Akademiks sparked the rumour mill by claiming Meek and Ross were feuding when the Dream Chasers CEO refused to let his label head into his birthday party in Miami, Florida. According to rumours, Meek wants to quit MMG but is having trouble doing so.
Meek Mill vented his anger on Twitter, saying he had no idea how much money his label makes off of him. “I haven’t get [sic] paid from music and i don’t know how much money labels make off me,” Meek wrote in a since-deleted tweet. “I need lawyers asap!!!”
