Rick Ross speaks on the Drake & Kanye West situation.
The situation between Drake and Kanye West got messy after the Toronto rapper takes shots at Ye on Trippie Redd’s song “Betrayal”, which led to West leaking Drizzy’s address on his social media. Kanye West and Drake have long been collaborators with Rick Ross. At the same time as them, he was one of the most successful rappers in the world, and he’s collaborated with both at the pinnacle of their careers. Drake texted Rozay shortly after Kanye’s Joker manoeuvre, according to Rozay, and the Florida icon disclosed what was stated in the conversation. Now Rick Ross, who has worked with both Kanye West and Drake, sat down with SiriusXM’s The Mike Muse Show, where he was asked about his opinion on the feud.
Ross shared some further comments on the greatest fight in rap right now during an interview on the Breakfast Club to promote his new book The Perfect Day to Boss Up: A Hustler’s Guide to Building Your Empire. He earlier claimed he found the whole affair hilarious on SirusXM’s Mike Muse Show, but with his recent comments, he’s also lauded Kanye for the massive magnitude of the Donda rollout, as well as what the album means as a memorial to ‘Ye’s late mother.
“I love it,” said Rick Ross, before sharing a text from Drake. “Everything is unfolding. I’m about to be as free as a bird,” the text reads.
“And I just, I couldn’t do nothing but put ‘hahahahaha’ because to me, I understand the genius to both of these artists, and I understand this is nothing personal to them,” says Ross. “This is two levels of creativity inspiring each other. Because they both are right now thinking of the artwork, thinking of the credits. Where do we place, what color is this, and to me, it only makes the game that much more genius, that much more valuable. Watching Kanye doing listening events in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. You know what that is for a Black artist? It wasn’t many years ago they wouldn’t even let a Black man into those types of arenas and now just to present my LP to some of my most valuable fans, we just going to listen, I’m not going to say one word.”
Rick Ross then speaks on Kanye West leaking Drake’s Toronto Address. “Kanye posted Drake’s address on the Instagram, but who didn’t have Drake address already?” says Rick. “It’s the only hundred million dollar estate in Canada. So if you don’t understand what’s going on, you would’ve thought that was personal. It really wasn’t. That’s just them getting ready for as Drake said ‘everything unfolding.’”
