Joe Budden opens up on the demise of Slaughterhouse.
Joe Budden is making an appearance on the N.O.R.E and DJ EFN’s “Drink Champs” show, and a teaser for the interview was shared online. In the clip, the rapper-turned-podcaster was asked about the rumours of him being the culprit for breaking the hip-hop group Slaughterhouse.
“Come on give me the blame, I’ll take it. I ruined everything. Everything that you loved, I ruined that sh*t,” said Budden. “After 10 years long of just stories and talk, yeah, I did it.’”
DJ EFN then again asked him about taking the blame for the demise of the group. “yea, it was me,” responds Budden.

The group was originally formed in late 2008 with KXNG Crooked, Joell Ortiz, Royce da 5’9″ and Joe Budden. They first appeared in the song called ‘Slaughterhouse’ on Budden’s album “Halfway House”. The group released two albums, a self-titled in 2009 and “Welcome To Our House” in 2012 through Shady Records and Interscope. In 2018, Royce da 5’9” announced that the supergroup had officially disbanded.
According to reports, Slaughterhouse was in the process of recording their third album, Glass House, when the group members decided to go their separate ways in 2018 to focus on their individual careers. KXNG Crooked, in a now-deleted Instagram post, explained at the time that music was no longer the top priority for the group. “The group isn’t rapping anymore and that’s okay,” Crooked wrote, as reported by Vibe. “It was a good run. As for Glass House, I have no idea. All I can say is that it exists. If it ever comes out, I’ll share it. Other than that, it’s all love. Thank you to everyone who supported me in Slaughterhouse.”
