Jadakiss gives his thought on the newer generation of rap.
Jadakiss was the latest rap artist who had an interview with popular kid reporter Jazlyn for her Jazzys World TV youtube channel. During the 5 minute conversation, The LOX icon was asked about the newer generation of rap.
“I love it,” he said. “I just think we need to tone down some of the violence, some of the killing, some of the arrests, and you should use it as an opportunity and a stepping stone to take care of your families, better your financial situation and you know, live life. After a couple of hits, We’re losing a lot of these dudes to senseless violence, gang activity. Whatever it is do what you do but be mindful of what you’re doing and try to use it as an opportunity to better your situation in life.”
The New York legend then asked about if any rapper from the newer generation can keep up with his lyrical ability. “I think there’s a couple new lyrical kings,” says Jadakiss. “Drake, J. Cole, I like Cordae, Kendrick, there’s a few monsters out there. Lil Baby. So yeah, the game is in good shape.”
Except for Cordae, Jada has collaborated with practically every rapper he named. In fact, during an appearance on HBO’s The Shop: Uninterrupted, Jada stated that working with The Lost Boy rapper is on his bucket list, and even informed Cordae’s girlfriend Naomi Osaka – who sat directly next from him – that she needs to assist him in securing a few bars.

He also shares some advice for the new musicians that are inspired by him. “To all the new musicians, like I said craftsmanship first, sharpen you still if you’re an artist if you’re a producer, if you’re doing things of that nature, you should be in the studio like we are right now. You should also be trying to learn the business as much as you can. You should keep some good people around you, you should do a lot of praying, keep the faith in the higher powers and just keep going, don’t ever give up, don’t let nobody discourage you, don’t let nothing discourage you and you will be alright.”
