Soulja Boy snaps back at J. Cole for his recent comments.
J. Cole revealed that he once hated Soulja Boy during his college time, but then realised that he’s hating, and started appreciating others more.
J. Cole recently made an appearance on the Lil Yachty podcast, where the Dreamville boss states that he hated new rappers like Soulja Boy during his college day, as he was more into 2Pac, Nas, JAY-Z, Andre 3000 and more.
“The time when Soulja Boy came out, I had a realisation within myself, Cause I’m hearing that sh-t, and was like man this sh-t [Trash] Soulja Boy Tell Em, It sound crazy to say now cause it’s such a classic to me. But at that time, I had resistance [hating]. I was like ‘Nah that’s not the thing I love, y’all f–kin with this,’ I was one of them,” he reveals.
He continued, “And a part of me that had a realisation, I was young, I was proud of myself for that realisation. I was like bruh, You a hater. Like yo, you are literally hating. You know you like this sh-t actually.”
“What you’d be better off doing is looking at Soulja Boy and realizing these dudes are talented and these dudes understand something you don’t. I switched my mindset and I turned from a hater to an appreciater. What can I find that’s amazing about this? What can I find that’s good about this? It changed me as an artist. I became a better artist.”
The comments from Cole didn’t go well with Soulja Boy, as he snapped back on twitter. “Ni–az always hated on me nothing new. “Him [J. Cole] and big sean was on some hating sh-t. But f–k them im still lit,” he wrote. “Aye bruh don’t speak on me @JColeNC I’m not lil pump, drake, or none of these rapper ni–az. On God,” he added. Big Draco also took aim at J. Cole’s age.
