Ice-T shows respect for Eminem.
Last year in March, Eminem appeared in a 50-minute interview with boxing legend Mike Tyson on his show ‘Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson‘ where the Detroit Rapper talked about a lot of things including the time he started loving rap music.
“The first time I heard anything, my uncle Ronnie brought over a tape, ‘The Breakin’ Soundtrack,” said Eminem. “And it had ‘Reckless’ on it from Ice-T [Eminem raps the song]. My Uncle Ronnie started in Rap before me. Then he introduced me to it. And right around that time I think. The Movie [Breakin’ 1984] had just come out, I saw the movie. And I loved it. It spoke to me in a way no other music did.”
Now the legendary New Jersey rapper finally heard the praise from Eminem and responded to it with mutual respect. “The Respect is Mutual Eminem,” wrote Ice-T on Twitter.
Ice-T, who interviewed the Detroit hip-hop sensation for his new documentary film, Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap, told MTV that Eminem’s rapping approach was highly sophisticated, stating, “It was like you were listening to a scientist.”
According to Ice T, this precise method is one of the reasons he gets along so well with Dr. Dre in the studio.
Meanwhile, Ice-T has recently begun filming the 23rd season of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, television’s longest-running show. During a recent HipHopDX interview, the 63-year-old artist/actor discussed how his “Cop Killer” image nearly ruined his other side job – sponsorships. But Snoop Dogg demonstrated that it was possible.
