Floyd Mayweather talks about NBA Youngboy, who has a baby with Yaya Mayweather.
NBA Youngboy is one of the artists on the list of rappers with most kids. The Baton Rouge rapper already has 8 kids with multiple women at the age of 22 and one of the kids he has is with Floyd Mayweather’s daughter Yaya Mayweather. They started dating back in 2018, and she gave birth to their son in 2020, but since then they broke off their relationship.
In the latest interview on The Pivot Podcast, the boxing legend Floyd Mayweather talked about Youngboy and called him a talented kid. “I’m proud of [NBA Youngboy], a very, very talented young kid,” he said. “One of the biggest artists as far as in music. He’s got a cult-like following. I look at him just like one of my sons. I only want the best for him.”
He continues, “I don’t want him to have beef with anyone. These kids beefing nowadays and don’t even know what they beefing for. So much talent. See what happens to these young kids, they dying on the regular, Pop Smoke. Just so many young rappers and young entertainers, period.”
“I feel like NBA YoungBoy went away for a while. I like to say went to college for a little bit, he’s back and I’m proud of him. I’m proud of my daughter. And I only want the best for NBA YoungBoy. I’m going to continue to push him and push her for both of them to be great.”
Mayweather also addressed Logan Paul’s latest accusation of due money in the interview, as well as apologise to autograph-seeking fans. “I love my fans because without my fans and my fans pushing me and supporting me and buying pay-per-view, I wouldn’t be where I’m at today,” Mayweather said around 25 minutes in. “So I apologize to any and everybody that I didn’t sign an autograph for or I didn’t take a picture [with].”
Late last year, YB and Yaya started dating. Yaya gave birth to their son later that year, in late 2020. Their relationship, however, has been on the rocks since then. Yaya was arrested in 2020 for reportedly stabbing Lapattra Jacobs, one of NBA YoungBoy’s baby moms, many times. Lapattra was severely injured as a consequence. Yaya faces a sentence of 20 years in prison, and her trial is scheduled for later this year.
YB alleges Yaya won’t let him visit their son in an unreleased single titled “Carry On” from January.
