Fat Joe talks about Eminem talking him out of retirement.
If it hadn’t been for Eminem, Fat Joe might have retired. Fat Joe recently did an interview session with Rap-Up to promote Pepsi’s “Your Wildest Dreams” virtual talent competition. In the interview, he was also asked about recently telling Big Sean that Eminem talked him out of retirement.
“I really honestly believed that I had retired one million percent,” says Fat Joe. “When the G.O.A.T. called, I felt so honored and I was like ‘Yo, f**k it, let me hear some beats!.’ And one thing led to another and here we are.”
Fat Joe continues, “Eminem said you know Joe, you are one of the last ones left. You are making better music now than ever. You can’t retire. You can not leave us.”
Joe has come out of retirement and is collaborating with DJ Khaled on the soundtrack for “The Big Big Show.”It’s a bridge between politics, sports, obviously hip-hop, what’s going on with the world with COVID, what’s going on with racial injustice, and so the music will reflect that, that D-Nice, Clark Kent, Old School Sunday,” said Joe.
Meanwhile, he keeps hosting his famous Instagram Live program, which he hopes to spread to other platforms in the future. He’s hosted A-listers like Diddy, Big Sean, and Chris Brown, and has Drake, JAY-Z, and Jennifer Lopez on his radar.
Eminem & Fat Joe Collaborated on Fat Joe’s Lord Above and the track includes further jabs at Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. Fat Joe teased the song, ‘Lord Above,’ which also includes Mary J Blige and Dr Dre, earlier this week, calling it “the most disrespectful song.”
Fat Joe mentioned Eminem and stated, “Shout out to Eminem, Shade 45. You know that boy on the album! Marshy! Imma give you one line Eminem says in the song. It’s the most disrespectful song. You, Eminem, has not rhymed like this in years. I thought of one right now. He said he’s a ‘unicorn in the human form!’“.
