Dr. Dre details the Super Bowl show in a new interview.
Dr. Dre made history at the Super Bowl with Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige with one of the great hip hop spectacle at the halftime show. The rap icons are receiving praise from fans as well fellow artists for the amazing show at the SoFi Stadium.
Co-host Charles Latibeaudiere got right to the point, asking if the NFL was involved in any aspects of their performance, specifically Eminem kneeling and Kendrick deleting the lyric “and we hate po-po” from his song “Alright.” There were some “minor” changes, according to Dre.
TMZ connected with the legendary producer the next morning, and asked about the changes they had to do for the show, and asked about Eminem’s much talked about knee after his performance. “There were a few things that we had to change, but they were really minor things,” he said. “Em taking a knee that was Em doing that on his own, and there was no problem with that. I think at the beginning of Kendrick’s set, he says [If Pirus and Crips all…] they had a problem with that, so we had to take that out. No big deal.”

Dre was then asked about the reaction of fellow performers after the show. “Everybody was extremely excited,” he said. “Mary [J. Blige] came back here to the house last night and we went downstairs to the studio and she was playing me samples and we were just vibing out because we were talking about working together on her next project. I’m not even sure if i’m supposed to be saying this or not so I’m sorry Mary.”
