Daylyt explains what kind of beats Eminem should rap on.
Battle rapper Daylyt recently did a live stream where he shows his love for old Eminem music and also explains why Eminem shouldn’t try to fit in the modern production beats. He also praises Eminem’s iconic ‘Lose Yourself’. “I’m just sitting there going through the whole Em catalog. Em was so fire, bro,” he says. “We’re talking prime Em. What Eminem does with his rhyme pattern is so amazing bro. The passion he puts in his verse is so fire. Prime Em, this ni**a’s fire bro. I’m listening to this song [Lose Yourself] and I’m thinking of the setup of the record. The Setup of the record is, His palms are sweaty, his knees weak, arms are heavy. As a battle rapper and a person that has stepped into any battle, or any sport, this song spoke to you.”
“I just went through Em’s old catalog and then I went through the new catalog and I realize what is the problem with Em right now. Em is growing mentally spiritually physically. He can’t rap about the things he rapped about anymore. But mainly what is hurting Eminem right now is beat selection. Em is trying to do what he normally does over modern beats and he’s trying to add the modern style production inside of his ability and that’s becoming like, when you add water and oil together, it doesn’t mix.”
Then he reveals what kind of beats Eminem should rap on. “If Em is to get on some boom bap, some heavy boom bap sh*t… [Beatboxing] You feel me? I want to see this,” says Daylyt. “We need Eminem and Alchemist. We need Eminem and Dilla. We need Eminem over whoever produces for Conway [The Machine]. We need Em and them type of ni**as, bro. Em will do damage if he gets back on those types of beats, bro. Em would do ultimate damage. And I’m only saying this because I want to put energy out there, and hopefully, Eminem is watching this. And hopefully, somebody related to Eminem is watching this and tell Em I said this personally. Because I’m a fan. I’ve been f**king with Eminem. At the Eminem universe, they hate me and love me because I’ve been f**king with Em so much. And I troll a lot but only because I’m a fan. That’s what fans do. Fans troll and say the opposite of how they feel. I’ve been listening to a lot Eminem and other than that, I’ve been listening to a lot of Ice Cube, Tupac, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole…But I’m thinking if Eminem got on some bap sh*t. Some super bap sh*t. I’m pretty sure he can do damage.”
Daylyt is among the most interesting and divisive rappers of our time. “Quill” claims to be a Grape Street Crip from Watts, California. He has a facial tattoo that is based on the Spawn character from the comic books. The sophisticated lyricist began to employ gimmicks to obtain greater exposure and attention during the GrindTime era.
