Coi Leray addresses Benzino’s beef with Eminem.
Coi Leray recently made an appearance on Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion podcast, where the Trendsetter artist was asked about her opinion on her father Benzino’s decades-old beef with Eminem. Leray was asked about her supporting Eminem when Benzino dissed the rapper for his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
“I know that anything that has to do with Eminem, I don’t have nothing to do with those times,” she said. “So don’t involve me in them. I’m my own person, you feel me? Don’t do that.” “Imma ride for my father regardless, ’cause he’s my father,” Leray added. “I don’t give a f**k what anybody says.”
She continued, “I wasn’t there to understand, but what I do know now is all that rap beef sh*t, even just today, is just f**king noise to me … I just think it’s just so corny and I don’t pay no mind to it.”
Benzino Slams Coi Leray’s Defense of Eminem’s Induction into Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
Last year, Leray showed love for Eminem over his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction. “I’m about love, equality, respect and forgiveness,” she began. “I have nothing against Eminem, 25 years of my life all I know is he a very talented artist and actor ! (8 Mile was great). Let’s build bridges and get over them before you burn the bridge and burn with it.”
“As far as the lil [Bird] who keeps talking about love and forgiveness. Well there’s this word called ‘loyalty’ and a commandment that says ‘Honor thy Mother and Father,’” Benzino tweeted at the time. “As far as burning bridges, there no bridge bigger than the one you burnt with your own blood.”
Benzino was plainly disappointed that Eminem was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 2022 class, pointing out that more seasoned Hip Hop pioneers and architects had yet to get the accolade. On contrast, Eminem was admitted in his first year of eligibility.
“Rock and roll hall of fame is just like the Grammy’s, they have no respect for our culture, Black or Hip Hop and if you don’t agree, you’re racist, period point blank,” he wrote. “Where’s Nas, Eric B and RAKIM, Kool Moe D, Epmd, Fearless Four, Fat Boyz, Lauren Hill, Little Kim, OutKast and 100s other Black rappers?? GTFOH.”
