Meek Mill drops new “Mandela” Freestyle.
Meek Mill continues dropping some new freebies as he releases a new song called “Mandela Freestyle“. It follows up his last week’s “War Stories.” The new freestyle comes in celebration of being honored with the Nelson Mandela Changemaker Award for his work with Reform Alliance.
“Can you believe it, in the land of the free I’m fighting for freedom?
They don’t even have no evidence on em’, they try to keep em
Black babies still caught in the system, they tryna Meek em
Mew condo overlooks Central Park, and it’s still reekin’,” he raps.
The video pays respect to the song’s namesake while also highlighting the Philadelphia artist and activist’s work with REFORM Alliance. A voiceover at the end of the music video says, “The Nelson Mandela changemaker award recognizes individuals who are carrying on Mr. Mandela’s legacy across one of the following key pillars: social equity through activism, community, and nation-building, protection and education of children and youth.” “Today, we honor Robert ‘Meek Mill’ Williams for carrying on President Nelson Mandela’s legacy,” says the statement.
The Philadelphia rapper is currently working on the follow-up to his “Championships” album.
