Bruno Mars & Anderson .Paak drops new song “Skate” through Slik Sonic.
Silk Sonic, the duo of Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars are with some new material as they release a brand new single called “Skate“. The track comes along with a retro-style music video where the duo is performing on a drum, while girls dance on Skates.
Whereas “Leave the Door Open” is a slower love ballad, “Skate” is a lively “summertime song” that embodies the album’s comforting vintage image and the Silk Sonic sound’s irresistible appeal. With its warm and welcoming colours, Mars and Florent Dechard’s music video “skates” us into summer, evoking the classic feel-good disco-R&B nostalgia with its ’70s-inspired clothes and cinematographic moments.
“I’m tryna roll, I’m tryna ride, I’m tryna float, I’m tryna glide—No, no, don’t be shy, just take my hand and hold on tight,” Mars sings in the chorus.
The song is a follow-up to their previous hit single “Leave The Door Open” which they also performed at the Grammys 2021. The track will appear on their upcoming album “An Evening with Silk Sonic”.
