Nas and 21 Savage connect on “One Mic, One Gun”.
21 Savage recently cause controversy after calling Nas “not relevant”, for which he received criticism from fans and fellow hip-hop fraternity. Now for a surprise, the two rappers connect for a brand new collaboration titled “One Mic, One Gun” which is produced by Hit-Boy.
“Only way we moving is with love, respect and unity. The foundational principles of hip hop. Excited to collaborate with my young brother and I hope more artist use turbulent moments and turn them into a time to make new art. That’s what it’s about,” wrote Nas.

“You rappers be chasing the hype / I do it and I don’t even be trying / I ain’t going against no legend / Ni**a, I’m trying to be next in line,” raps 21. “No back and forth I did it back then / I do it right now / They tell me I’m the G-O-A-T / I been here for awhile / GOAT love me today, hate me tomorrow, switch up my style,” raps Nas.
Nas’ relevance in the present rap scene was questioned by 21 Savage during a Clubhouse conversation soon after the Queensbridge MC’s most recent album, King’s Disease 3, was released. “I don’t feel like he’s relevant,” he said amid a discussion about veteran rappers. “He’s not. He just has a loyal-ass fanbase and he still makes good-ass music. But relevant? Nah.”
On Twitter, 21 subsequently corrected his remarks, stating, “I would never disrespect nas or any legend who paved the way for me y’all be tryna take stuff and run with it.” That didn’t halt the barrage of criticism, which included Hit-Boy, Kodak Black, Fivio Foreign, and Michael Rapaport.
The new song follows up 21 Savage and Drake’s latest joint project “Her Loss” and Nas & Hit-Boy’s third instalment of the “King’s Disease” album series.
