Macklemore drops a new song “Trump’s Over”.
A couple of months ago, Macklemore returned to the music scene with his new Funk Flex freestyle and today he decided to release another new song where he celebrates the end of Donald Trump’s presidency. The freestyle is called “Trump’s Over” where he also takes shots at Liberals, Republicans, and even the new US President Joe Biden.
Macklemore has a history of virtue signalling, as seen by his performance of same-sex marriages onstage with Madonna in 2014 and his apology to Kendrick Lamar for winning three Grammys in the rap category. His activism is considerably more obvious in his music — which, to be fair, did convey the notion of white privilege to many in the mid-aughts — than in his deeds, except from Instagramming a black square in June, playing at benefit concerts, and trying to support individuals suffering from addiction.
