KXNG Crooked & Joell Ortiz released a new song “Backstage.”
KXNG Crooked and Joell Ortiz recently announced their new album “Rise & Fall of Slaughterhouse”, and now the duo continues the rollout with a new song. The former slaughterhouse members released the single called “Backstage”, where they reflect on their dismembered group, along with some archive clips. This follows up their last week’s offering “Vacancy“.
“Four of us backstage, we say a prayer / Come out one-by-one and sound off, I see it like I’m there / Every hand in the air, felt energy everywhere / Point that mic in the crowd, they go line-for-line anywhere in a song,” raps Ortiz.
“Thank God, thank you for lettin’ me wake up / Feel like I’m in the land of Canaan / Feel like we are the sons of Jacob / Four brothers who destined to break up,” raps Crooked.
Crook started a dialogue with all Slaughterhouse members months ago to discuss the possibilities of a reunion. Only two of them looked to be eager to put in the effort to resurrect the supergroup. They’ve just released a new tune called “Backstage.”
Joell and Crook both performed heartfelt poems on why the Slaughterhouse’s beautiful narrative was cut short. Joell attributes their recent conflicts and disagreements to the fact that the group split apart and the magic deserted them.
