DaBaby drops a new song “Ball If I Want To”.
Following the long-awaited single “Skat” with Tory Lanez, DaBaby returns with some of his own new material as he releases a new song called “Ball If I Want To“. The track which is produced by DA Got That Dope, comes along with an official video.
The rapper leads a posse of cheerleaders on the basketball court and takes over a high school library with a squad of passionate dancers in his directorial debut. The boisterous visual pays homage to DaBaby’s adolescence with a gigantic, diaper-clad baby mascot, a food fight in the cafeteria, and aggressive twerking on a Twister board.
DaBaby’s previous solo single, “Masterpiece,” was released in January. Later that month, he appeared with City Girls on BRS Kash’s “Throat Baby (Go Baby) (Remix).”
DaBaby’s most recent studio album, Blame It on Baby, was released in 2020. He released two full-length albums the previous year: Baby on Baby and KIRK.
The music video shows DaBaby in the High School, dancing with the cheer girls and a lot more. DaBaby recently assisted Yo Gotti & Polo G on the visuals for “Drop” and “Party Lyfe“.
DaBaby is up for Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, Album of the Year for Blame It On Baby, Viewers Choice Award, and Best Collaboration for a number of singles, including “Rockstar” with Roddy Ricch, “What’s Poppin (Remix)” with Jack Harlow, Tory Lanez, and Lil Wayne, “Cry Baby” with Megan Thee Stallion, and “For The Night” with Pop Smoke and Lil Baby.
DaBaby has been nominated for seven awards at the forthcoming 2021 BET Awards, tying her with Megan Thee Stallion for the most nominations at this year’s event, which is set to take place on June 27. “We are back and excited to bring culture’s biggest night, the 2021 BET Awards, safely back to Los Angeles to celebrate this year’s incredible roster of nominees,” Connie Orlando, BET’s Head of Specials, Music Programming and Music Strategy, said last month along with the nominations announcement. “We broke ground as one of the first official award shows to move forward during the global pandemic and we are ready to take our pioneer status to the next level with the return of an audience to celebrate the best and brightest creative minds in the entertainment industry.”
