DaBaby drops a new song “Red Light Green Light”.
Following last week’s “Ball If I Want To” song & video, DaBaby continues releasing new material as he releases another new song called “Red Light Green Light“. The Da Got That Dope-produced track is expected to appear on his upcoming album, and we can expect an announcement soon. A music video for the song is also dropping later today.
A while ago, DaBaby also shows his desire to collaborate with the legendary Jay-Z as he tweets, “Who I gotta talk to to get Jay-Z on a song?“.
Following up on his directorial debut with the high school-themed “Ball If I Want To,” DaBaby returned to the director’s chair for “Red Light, Green Light.” The video has visual references to Boyz N The Hood and The Nutty Professor, as well as a wild backyard barbeque.
“I enjoy my Lamborghinis because they drive fast / But the Maybach is definitely my favorite whip,” DaBaby declares on the track, referring to his version on flute rap.
DaBaby will perform at the 2021 BET Awards this weekend, where he is up for seven awards, including Album of the Year for Blame It on Baby. The rapper has also committed to performing at the Austin City Limits Festival, Music Midtown, and other festivals.
DaBaby also announced this week that he will be collaborating with boohooMAN on a summer collection that will be released on June 30. “I love me some mutually beneficial partnerships,” he said in an interview with Billboard. “It’s always a blessing, so them wanting to work with me made things pretty easy. Them giving me the opportunity and creative input on the designs and what was going on with everything – that definitely made it a silky smooth collaboration.”
