Rod Wave drops his new album “SoulFly”.
After giving us song & videos for ‘Street Runner‘ and ‘Tombstone‘ earlier this month, Rod Wave continues releasing new material as finally drops his brand new album “SoulFly“. The project contains 19 records with a lone guest appearance from Polo G.
Wave’s third album, SoulFly, is a follow-up to his 2020 album “Pray 4 Love”, which reached number two on the Billboard 200 chart. Prior to that, he released Ghetto Gospel, his major-label debut, in 2019, which reached number 10 on the US Billboard 200. In regards to his label, Alamo Records, the Florida rapper had a brief feud with them over unpaid royalties.
An extended version of the album was put out on August 20, 2021, which includes guest appearances by Kodak Black and Lil Durk. This album showcases the artist’s style of delivering powerful and emotive narratives, a signature feature in their music.
Rod Wave’s album earned him No. 1 on Billboard 200. According to MRC Data, Rod Wave’s SoulFly debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, earning 130,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending April 1. SoulFly’s arrival also marks the biggest week in terms of units earned for an R&B/hip-hop album in 2021.
