Dave East releases the “Paranoia: A True Story” album.
After revealing the tracklist yesterday, Dave East decided to release his debut Def Jam project called “Paranoia: A True Story“. The album contains 13 tracks with features from French Montana, Chris Brown, Wiz Khalifa, Jeezy, and Nas.
The Harlem rapper’s fame is spreading beyond the streets after seven years of making mixtapes. East, channeling the spirit of Styles P and Jadakiss, tells the story of his transition from Division 1 basketball star to the underground rapper. His mentor Nas signed him to Mass Appeal, and he later joined forces with Def Jam. These two achievements proved to be enough to get him out of the housing projects where he recorded hustler’s songs like No Regrets and Gemini. However, with the recent killings of two of his relatives, East finds it impossible to relax in the glare of celebrity.
