Listen to the “Bruised” official soundtrack.

The first of its kind, an all-female music project is finally here. The project is the official soundtrack for Netflix’s new film “Bruised”, which stars Halle Berry. The “Bruised” film is about a disgraced MMA fighter (Halle Berry) who finds redemption in the cage and the courage to face her demons when the son she had given up as an infant unexpectedly reenters her life.

The all-female project is executive produced by Halle Berry and Cardi B, and the duo selected all the ladies that contributed to the project. The project features songs from Cardi B (Bet It), H.E.R. (Automatic Woman), Saweetie (Attitude), City Girls (Scared), Latto (The F**k), Erica Banks (On They Neck), Young M.A (No Mercy) and more.

Halle Berry recently praised the main contributor Cardi B, who she called the “Queen of Hip-Hop”. During the premiere event of the film on Saturday, Berry said, “I reached out to Cardi b because she’s the Queen of Hip hop.”

The film previously had the world premiere at the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival, and now it will officially release on Netflix next week on November 24th. Along with starring in it, Halle Berry also directed the sports drama film.

Berry and Cardi promoted the album in the inaugural episode of Berry’s Instagram series 5 Rounds, in which they discussed their biggest purchases, favourite s*x positions, and other topics. The music for Bruised is “the first-ever all-female hip-hop soundtrack,” according to Berry.

The entertainment sector is in high demand for H.E.R., who recently shared the Academy Award for Best Original Song with D’Mile and Tiara Thomas for their song “Fight for You” from “Judas and the Black Messiah.” With this year’s Grammy Award for Song of the Year for her anti-abortion hymn “I Can’t Breathe,” H.E.R. is halfway to the EGOT. She also broke Jennifer Hudson’s record for being the youngest African-American to win an Academy Award at the age of 23 for supporting actress in “Dreamgirls,” who was 25 at the time. Another submission for original songwriting awards-worthy is her song “Automatic Woman.”

Berry directs and portrays a dejected M.M.A. fighter in Bruised, which is also her debut film. Bruised opened in select theatres on November 17 and will be available on Netflix on November 24.
