Boldy James & The Alchemist drops new album “Bo Jackson”.
Boldy James and The Alchemist continue dropping new material as they release a new joint album called “Bo Jackson“. It is a follow-up to their last year’s project “The Prince of Tea in China”. The announcement was marked with the release of the lead single, “First 48 Freestyle,” which was backed by a video showing the rapper admiring the skyline from his residence. The new album contains 14 tracks with guest appearances from Currensy & Freddie Gibbs on “Fake Flowers”, Benny The Butcher on “Brickmile To Montana”, Earl Sweatshirt on “Photographic Memories” and more.
Last year, Boldy James talked about working with The Alchemist in an interview with Complex. A year ago, the Detroit MC met down with discuss his deal to Griselda Records and what it was like to reunite with Al for Bo Jackson. James and Alc marked the occasion by releasing the lead single, “First 48 Freestyle,” which was backed by a video showing the rapper admiring the cityscape from his residence. “All my work with Al is different,” he said. “None of it’s the same, because I’m not the same person mentally during the creative process. We all mature as people. And I’m a father, so every day I’m growing as a man, and my mindset is not as immature as it used to be. I’m more polished. I don’t know if that’s going to hurt or help me in my creative process, or how the fans are going to receive the music, but there are different mindsets while I’m creating. I don’t know what the best mindset is to make the best music possible.”
Along with the album, they also dropped a music video for “Double Hockey Sticks“, which is directed by The Digggers.
