Statik Selektah shares the new album “Round Trip”.
Statik Selektah is back with some new material as he unleashes his tenth studio album “Round Trip”, a follow-up to 2020’s solo effort “The Balancing Act“. This is his second project of the year, as he previously dropped “To See A Sunset” with Kota The Friend”.
The album comes through Mass Appeal, and it contains a pack of 20 songs. The star-studded album features appearances from Ransom, Benny the Butcher, Termanology, Inspectah Deck, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Method Man, Conway The Machine, Ab-Soul, Joey Badass, Bun B, Boldy James, Russ, G-Eazy, IDK, Logic, and more.
At the end of last year, Stalk also teamed up with Bun B for a joint project titled “Trillstatik 2“, a second instalment of their album series.
“It’s my 10th album, so to me it’s a full-circle moment for the catalog. Making it Round Trip means so much to me. Living this crazy life, and being on tour, it’s always about making it home to my daughter. That’s what life’s about. Posdnous from De La Soul, who did the intro, made it more deep. He made Round Trip be about life in general, talking about Dave’s “Round Trip” which was deep as well,” he told The Hype Magazine.
“It definitely has a progression in the production. To me, it’s a different vibe compared to a lot of my other albums, especially if you go back to my first album. It feels a lot more full, a lot more musical, and there’s definitely a broader variety of artists on there.”
