Snoop Dogg Releases His 19th Studio Album Algorithm

Snoop Dogg drops his new album “Algorithm” through Def Jam Recordings.

It’s finally here. Snoop Dogg, the creative consultant and executive of Def Jam has released his 19th studio album “Algorithm”. The long beach legend had been promoting the project for some time now, and previously dropped a couple of songs, “Murder Music” with Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, Benny The Butcher, and the Mount Westmore single “Big Subwoofer” featuring E-40, Ice Cube and Too Short.

The project contains 25 tracks, with new music from Redman, Method Man, Usher, Eric Bellinger, Fabolous, Dave East, YK Osiris, Blxst, October London, Ty Dolla Sign, Mary J Blige, Wiz Khalifa and more.

“There’s so much talent on this record, so many styles of music, it breaks the algorithm,” Snoop said in a statement to NME. “Right now, the algorithm is telling us you have to rap this way, you have to sound this way, but they’re not telling you how it’s supposed to feel. My algorithm is going to give you a feeling, not a sound.”

Snoop Dogg also revealed that he will drop the Mount Westmore album, his rap group with E-40, Too Short and Ice Cube in January. The album will feature his collaboration with the Detroit legend Eminem. “There is Snoop Dogg and Eminem song on my Westmore album. It is called ‘From Detroit to the LBC’,” said Snoop Dogg. “That’s my Mount Westmore album that is coming out in January and Eminem and Snoop single is featured on there. And that motherf**ker slapped. That s**t is huh… It was very challenging for me. Eminem really f**king shot at me. He shot his shot and as a rapper that’s what you want when you get a feature, to have to work you f**king a** off. He is going that hard because he knows I’m going to match him on the same level and that’s what it is when you make records with people that you love. It’s competitive but for the right reason. To bring the best out of each other.”

Snoop has also disclosed that he is working on a Def Jam initiative for children. “I was a fan of Def Jam Records as a kid,” the 49-year-old told Fallon. “And knowing the talent that they have over there and the opportunity that was waiting on me, I wanted to go over there and give a lot of opportunity to the artists over there to get some information, some wisdom and some guidance from me and then also develop some new acts and give some opportunity.”
