This is the fifth project from Nas and Hit-Boy in the past three years, as the two previously linked up on “King’s Disease 3“, following “King’s Disease” (2020), “King’s Disease II” (2021) and “Magic” (2021).
In a recent interview, Nas reflect on recording process with Hit-Boy. “Sometimes I’d be like, ‘But I did that, I did that already.’ And he’d say, ‘I know you, you’re going to go into a new cadence on it. Can you, please, just do this flow right here? I promise you’,” he said. The rapper also stated that he never wanted to make last year’s “King’s Disease 3“. “In my head, I said, ‘There’s never going to be a KD3,” he revealed. “Why did I say this? I’m tired.’”
