After an announcement a couple of weeks ago with a trailer, Lloyd Banks finally drops his highly anticipated new album “The Course of the Inevitable“. The former G-Unit member unveiled the official cover art and tracklist last week. The album contains 18 tracks with guest appearances from Benny the Butcher, Styles P, Ransom, Vado, and more.
For Lloyd admirers, “The Course of the Inevitable” signals the end of a long drought. The album is his first since Halloween Havoc 3: Four Days of Fury, which he released in 2016. As a result, this album sees Banks wholeheartedly embrace that fate. He isn’t bothered with numbers or charting; instead, he is releasing independently and focusing on getting out bar after bar. The Course of the Inevitable is probably the most lyrically rich statement in hip hop in recent memory, packed with exhaustion and meaning from top to bottom to the point where you’d think he was writing phrases over each other.
