Lil Wayne unleashes “Tha Carter VI” album.
Lil Wayne returns to the music scene as he finally releases his highly anticipated new album “Tha Carter VI”. This is his first full-length album in five years, a follow-up to 2020’s “Funeral”, and a sequel to 2018’s “Tha Carter V”.
“If there’s one thing about this album that’s different, it’s me approaching it like, ‘Man, what would I sound like on something with such and such?’” Wayne told Rolling Stone previously.
The album was supposed to release a long time ago, but got delayed like other Wayne projects. It comes with a pack of 19 tracks, with guest appearances from Jelly Roll, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Wyclef Jean, Mannie Fresh, MGK, Kodak Black.
Wyclef Jean shared his experience working on the project. “Leaving Wyclef Jean and Lil Wayne in a studio for 24 hours is a dangerous thing,” he told Rolling Stone. “You don’t know what’s going to pop out.”
“You going to probably do like eight songs [with Wyclef] because he’s going to keep flipping what you did on one [song] and make a whole [new] song out of that sh-t,” added Wayne.
Today, Weezy also kicked off his North America Tour from New York, along with special guests Tyga, Nocap, and more.
