Kid Cudi shares the new album and series “Entergalactic”.
After the rollout for the past few weeks, Kid Cudi has finally unleashed his eighth studio album “Entergalactic”. The project is a follow-up to his 2020’s “Man on the Moon III: The Chosen” which debuted at #2 on Billboard 200 with 144,000 album-equivalent units. The new album arrives with a Netflix animated series of the same name.
The new album is laced with the recently released single “Willing To Trust” with Ty Dolla Sign, which they also performed on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. The additional guest appearances come from 2 Chainz on “Can’t Believe”, Don Toliver on “Somewhere To Fly”, and Ty Dolla Sign on another song “Can’t Shake Her”.
“I always wanted to do something visual accompanying an album, but so many people have tried that,” he said about his new project. “I just wanted to figure out another approach that hadn’t been done before. With this, the process was really simple. I masterminded this whole thing and said, ‘Okay, it’s best if I make the music first and then we go in and write the scripts.’”
The Netflix adaptation of the record features Cudi as Jabari and Jessica Williams as Meadow, Jabari’s next-door neighbor, and romantic interest. The couple appears to meet and connect in the trailer, but their brief relationship is abruptly ended by the surprise presence of Jabari’s ex-girlfriend.
