Gucci Mane and 1017 drops “So Icy Boyz”.
Gucci Mane returns with some new material as he drops a compilation project of his label 1017. The album is titled “So Icy Boyz“. The project is laced with previously released singles “Poppin” by Bigwalkdog and Gucci Mane, “On God” by BiC Fizzle, “Free Smoke” by Hotboy Wes and Big Scarr and more.
The project contains 17 tracks, with music from the label boss, and other label members. The album also features guest appearances from Quavo, Lil Baby and Bankroll Freddie.
In June, the Atlanta rapper released his latest solo album called “Ice Daddy“, which was named after Ice Davis, his son with his wife Keyshia Ka’oir. Gucci Mane is currently on the “Legendz of the Streetz” tour with Rick Ross, Jeezy, 2 Chainz, Fabolous, Lil Kim, Trina and DJ Drama.
During the COVID-19 lockdowns, Gucci relaunched 1017, adding a number of performers to the lineup.
“The pandemic is how I popped off my label,” he told Billboard earlier this year. “While everybody [else] is going to sit on their money, I’m going to come out and sign artists. That was my whole strategy … We’ve been like a family. I want to make my artists a part of everything I do. And we’re going to all grow together.”
In recent years, The New 1017 has experienced many changes, reorganising its roster and focusing on artists such as Pooh Shiesty, Enchanting, Foogiano, and others. We’ve heard several versions of their So Icy Boyz posse tracks by this time, but this one is one of the finest.
