Ab-Soul shares his new album “HERBERT”.
It’s TDE season as we get a second project from the label this month. Following the release of SZA’s “SOS” last week, now AB-Soul returns with his first project in 6 years. The LA rapper has unleashed his brand new fifth studio album “HERBERT”.
The album contains 18 tracks, including the previously released songs “Hollandaise“, “Moonshooter” and “Do Better” with Zacari. The additional guest appearances come from Joey Badass, Jhene Aiko, Punch, Russ, Big Sean, SiR and more.
This is his first album in 6 years, following up on 2016’s “Do What Thou Wilt.” Soul’s previous efforts featured the likes of Mac Miller, Rapsody, Bas, Schoolboy Q, SZA and more. The album charted at #34 on US Billboard 200 and the number 9 spot on US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.
In a new conversation with Rolling Stone, Ab-Soul stated, “We’re all going through things, all of us,” “Me sharing my testimony — if it doesn’t help, it might let you know you’re not the only one going through it. That’s what ultimately gives me the courage to put it out there.”
