Travis Scott drops the new album ‘ASTROWORLD’.

After announcing it earlier this week, Travis Scott has released his third and highly anticipated album ‘ASTROWORLD‘. The name of the project was announced way back in 2016 before the release of ‘Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight‘.

The project contains 17 songs with guest appearances from Drake, Pharrell, Frank Ocean, The Weeknd, Migos, 21 Savage & More. Production is handled by the likes of Sonny Digital, Hit-Boy, FKi 1st, Gezin 808 Mafia, Boi-1da, wondaGURL, Murda Beatz, and more.

Astroworld will be Scott’s follow-up to his platinum-selling album Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight from 2016. Travis’ first No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the album generated many platinum songs, including “Goosebumps,” which featured Kendrick Lamar, and “Biebs in the Trap,” which included Kendrick Lamar.

The tracks are densely layered, with samples such as Beastie Boys’ “The New Style” (on “Carousel”), Guy’s “Piece of My Love” (on “One Deep”), Luke’s “I Wanna Rock” and Biggie’s “Gimme the Loot” sprinkled throughout the three-part “Sicko Mode.” Some moments are so subtle that they require many listens to notice. Astroworld looks and sounds expensive, as do all of Scott’s albums, but unlike its predecessors, which battled to be more than big-ticket collections with Scott’s name rubber-stamped on them, this one is a carefully woven tapestry.

Astroworld opened at number one on the Billboard 200 in Travis Scott’s native nation of the United States, with 537,000 album-equivalent units, including 270,000 pure album sales. The album had the second-best first week of the year, behind only Drake’s Scorpion, and the second-best pure album sales week, trailing only Dave Matthews Band’s Come Tomorrow. In its first week, the album received 349.43 million streams, making it the fifth-largest streaming week ever. In the United States, it is Scott’s second number-one album.
