Future drops ‘Superfly Soundtrack’ Album feat Young Thug, Lil Wayne & others.

The official soundtrack album for the upcoming movie ‘Superfly‘ is finally here. The Soundtrack is the Future‘s project is executive produced by Future himself. The 13 tracks project features music from 21 Savage, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Young Thug, Miguel, Lil Wayne, Khalid, and more. The Superfly movie, which is a remake of the 1972 classic, will hit theaters next week on June 15.

Instead of Harlem in 1972, the film takes set in modern-day Atlanta, making Future the ideal choice. The album largely plays like a Future record, but it also includes performances from Lil Wayne, Miguel, Young Thug, and PartyNextDoor, whose feature opposite the Atlanta rapper just received a visual treatment for the song “No Shame,” which was also directed by Director X.

Future has engaged plenty of stars and old acquaintances in this ensemble effort instead of taking the single-artist path of the Curtis Mayfield record. Starting with Sleepy Brown—Brown and Future were united in the Dungeon. While the soundtrack is a soundtrack of the southern setting of the 2018 movie, there are many nodes to the soulful age of the original movie, and Sleepy Brown is well placed on his opening tune “If You Wanna.” The soundtrack also contains Young Bans, a song called “Bag” and “This Way” which joins Future, and an alt-R&B favorite slow-jam duet named H.E.R. and Khalid.

The Superfly Original Motion Picture Soundtrack opened at number 25 on the Billboard 200 with 17 million song streams and 5,000 pure album sales, which Billboard estimated to 15,000 album-equivalent units.

There’s a chance we’ll see a new Future x Nicki Minaj collaboration soon. In a video posted to Instagram and Twitter earlier this week, Minaj stated that Future thought her upcoming album Queen was a masterpiece. “He never says s**t like that,” she informed fans.
