Felix & Paul Studios are releasing a new virtual reality documentary called ‘Marshall From Detroit‘ on January 26th and today they decided to release the official trailer. The 21-minute movie which will premiere at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, will feature Eminem talking about Detroit with Sway Calloway while riding around Detroit.
“Our idea was to extend the blanket of intimacy offered by VR beyond the once-in-a-lifetime ride with Marshall and introduce you to a more mystic version Detroit you could never see for yourself,” director Caleb Slain talks with Variety. “We wanted to talk the ‘reality’ out of VR and cook it down into something more unreal, but also truthful.”
“Our studio has a history of using technology to tell stories in new, more immersive ways, to create experiences that are at the convergence of the intimate and the extraordinary,” says Felix & Paul studios co-founder Paul Raphael. “Marshall From Detroit is a sparkling expression of that, inviting you on a surreal ride through Detroit with Eminem himself.”
The movie will be available to the public via Facebook’s Oculus Go and Rift VR headsets in February. Watch the trailer below.
