XXL Unveils 2015 Freshman Cover.
XXL Magazine has finally released their 2015 Freshman Cover List which Includes 10 artists who Show a ‘New Wave in Hip-Hop Music’. Check out the List & their Cover Art Shoot.
On the cover of their Summer 2015 edition, XXL revealed the highly anticipated 2015 Freshman Class of up-and-coming rappers. Fetty Wap, DeJ Loaf, Tink, GoldLink, K Camp, G Maco, Raury, Shy Gilzzy, and Vince Staples are among the nine MCs chosen by the XXL crew for the ninth annual class. One, Kidd Kidd, was chosen by the audience.
These 10 Artist Select by the XXL Mag, In the upcoming Weeks, You Goona See Some New Cypher, Interviews, Round tables, Freestyles which is Hosted by DJ Drama.
The list has received both praise and criticism in the past, being credited with breaking celebrities such as Kid Cudi (2009) and Kendrick Lamar (2011) while also neglecting or elevating the incorrect MCs (most notably, Iggy Azalea in 2012). This year, XXL has already been ridiculed for featuring Kidd Kidd despite the fact that he has never worked in the music industry.XXL magazine has already been slammed for adding Kidd Kidd despite the fact that he has worked in the music industry for almost a decade, primarily with Young Money and Lil Wayne.
