Freddie Gibbs and Madlib drop a new song ‘Giannis’.
After giving us ‘Crime Pays‘ at the end of last month, the duo of Freddie Gibbs and Madlib continues releasing new material as they team up with Anderson .Paak for the song called ‘Giannis‘ which samples a Bollywood song at the end.
Gibbs is forced to stand aside while his partner makes a less-than-ideal deal with a drug lord named Aurelio in the first scene of “Giannis.” Gibbs receives a beating for his disobedience, but the rapper gets vengeance on his partner and takes over his business. When the movie shifts to the present, Aurelio is attempting to figure out if Gibbs, who purportedly retired to a zebra farm in the “Crime Pays” clip, is getting back into the game, and he sets up a meeting with him.
Bandana was released at the end of last month by Freddie Gibbs and Madlib. The duo will play at the Made in America Festival in Philadelphia from August 31st to September 1st, after which they will tour.
The song will appear on their upcoming joint project ‘Bandana‘ which is releasing later this month. Listen to it below.
UPDATE: Added the official video which doesn’t feature Madlib and Anderson .Paak.
