Chris Brown & Young Thug drops “City Girls” video.
After the ‘Say You Love Me‘ video in September, Chris Brown and Young Thug teams up once again for the official visual for their song called “City Girls“. The track appeared on their joint project called “Slime & B“.
“City Girls” is the follow-up to Slime & B’s top 10 hits “Go Crazy,” which has been streamed over 988 million times worldwide since its release in April.
The short film, directed by Brown’s longtime creative partner Jake Miosge, is an homage to Old Hollywood’s gangster era in the 1940s. The cinematic clip, narrated by Lillo Brancato Jr., who co-starred in A Bronx Tale with Robert De Niro, finds Breezy at a downtown L.A. burlesque club where he falls for a dancer who hypnotizes him with her moves. However, when Thugger walks in, chaos ensues, and a shootout with the mafia ensues. Despite a hail of bullets, Chris escapes with a lady on his arm unharmed.
Chris Brown pulls up to a nightclub in an old-school Hollywood backdrop, appearing like a scene out of a gangster movie, in “City Girls.” He enters the club and immediately strikes up a conversation with a woman who informs him that she will be performing that night. Chris stands there watching as the music fades out for Young Thug’s (and Lil Keed’s) entrance, creating a tense situation. As the pair wanders through the pub, enjoying the performance, the manager asks for backup. After a few minutes, Chris assaults a man who taps him on the shoulder, clearly feeling that things aren’t quite right before a gunfight ensues.
Chris Brown and Young Thug collaborated on the commercial mixtape titled Slime & B. Guest appearances on the mixtape are made by Gunna, Future, Too $hort, and E-40, among others. The mixtape’s main single, “Go Crazy,” debuted at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent more than a year on the list, making it one of the most popular singles for both artists.
