Lloyd Banks shares a visual for “Dead Roses”.
Just the other night, Lloyd Banks dropped his brand new album “The Course Of The Inevitable 2”, a follow-up to his last year’s effort. The rapper continues the promo run with a new music video for his song called “Dead Roses”. The Maryland rapper targets his haters, industry and more in the Black and White Llama-directed official video.
“State of emergency, hear the culture calling,” he raps. “Anyone that seem cool they make you focus on ’em / You lose your life to much sleep and having the dream is tough / Ni**as gotta see your bloodstream to make your streams go up.”
The new project features guest appearances from Conway The Machine, Jadakiss, Benny The Butcher, Tony Yayo and more.
Despite Banks’ tense relationship with his former G-Unit leader 50 Cent, the Queens-raised rapper made sure to give Fiddy his flowers and thanked him for being a “exceptional” songwriter who helped him hone his craft. The Course of the Inevitable 2 is full of lyrical musings similar to “Dead Roses,” and it is noteworthy that despite Banks’ tense relationship with Fiddy, the two have remained friendly.
“Coming into mixtapes, starting from Master C, the [DJ] Clues, DJ Absoluts, and this was even before ‘Bad News’ dropped and things like that, watching 50, to be perfectly honest with you,” he said on The Joe Budden Podcast earlier this week. “He wasn’t just a writer, he was an exceptional songwriter.”
